We allow enough time so that you won’t be rushed.

Glaucoma:

• We don’t use an “Air Puff” test. Some use them as a screening instrument and if there are unusual findings an applanation tonometer is ordered which is the industry standard for accuracy. We skip the “Air Puff” and use the accurate test to begin with.

Macular Degeneration:

• When needed the doctor will order an SD OCT test. Spectral Domain Optical Coherent Tomography can scan the back layers of your retina at a resolution thinner than a human hair. This can catch diseases before you have symptoms.

Diabetes:

• Diabetes can cause multiple vision and health problems. Many effects can be observed in the back of the eye. We do retinal photography to get a static picture so we can get a good look. Its also used to compare year to year changes and able to help catch subtle changes that otherwise go unnoticed.

Cataracts:

• Cataracts are mainly a frosting or yellowing of the crystalline lens in the eye. Although we don’t do the required surgery to fix this, we can closely monitor and let you know when it is the proper time to see a surgeon.

Other diseases:

• Drusen, macular holes, nevus, hemorrhages, and over 80 possible diseases that can just affect the eyes are looked for.
